Bruges locals in heart and soul

As a true citizen of Bruges, we know the city like the back of our hand. We love living here and will gladly show you the way to hidden treasures, fascinating activities, unmissable sights and atmospheric places to eat and drink. We also enjoy sharing our passion for Bruges' rich history and fascinating architecture with you.

Passion for Modernism in Bruges

We appreciate the splendour of Bruges' buildings and cherish the architectural beauty of old houses. You will especially notice our passion for modernist architecture in the city. When we discovered Huis Billiet in 2016, we immediately thought: "This is it!". Architect Huib Hoste designed this modernist house in the 1920s. City of Bruges protected it in 1995. Although the house has undergone few major structural interventions, it was in neglected condition when we bought it. We carefully restored its architectural-historical and socio-cultural value, resulting in the beautiful façade colours coming back into their own. Inside, the living room stands out with its geometric areas of colour, and we recovered the furniture the architect designed for this room.

Sharing the grandeur of Huis Billiet

We would consider it a shame to keep the splendour of Huis Billiet behind closed doors. We want to share this gem. Sometimes you can admire Huis Billiet during open days, but our guest rooms also offer the ideal opportunity to combine a visit to Bruges with an overnight stay in a protected monument. Not only will you enjoy a comfortable room, but also a unique experience in modernist history.
